Hi there!
It’s the 31st of December where I am right now. I write this email while looking back on the year that it has been for Psychology with Arjun and me personally.
Heads up, there is no story this week. It is just something from my heart this time around.
I started this newsletter last year around this time to bring some stories from the world of Psychology to the general public. I had been studying the subject for close to 5 years and was amazed by how little my juniors knew about the true depths of the discipline.
Here are some of the stories from this year that you liked the most!
The Dark Side of Empathy:
The Seductive Brain
I Can Read Your Mind But…
But that is not all we did this year. We also dived into the lives of great scientists to question what made them what they were and if the knowledge that psychology claims to verify with its experiments can truly be verified.
We even heard right from the biggest mental health influencer in India with our interview with Divija Bhasin!
More than all these things, what this newsletter has given me is a community of people who are willing to learn and grow every week and become better students, better psychologists and better scientists.
I remember one week in June when I was feeling low and I got an email from one of you to check in. It wasn’t much but it was something I was not used to.
This newsletter hasn’t just been a one-way communication. Your thoughts, your messages and replies have kept me going throughout the year and will keep doing so in the next year as well.
As a token of my gratitude for your support, I am doing a giveaway for all my readers. Here is how you can participate in the giveaway!
Be subscribed to the newsletter
Reply to this email with your favorite story from our collection and why you like it.
That’s it! Remember that only emails/replies sent before January 10, Midnight IST will be considered.
2 random winners will get a copy of “The Body Keeps The Score” by Bessel van der Kolk, the most influential book in modern psychotherapy taking us towards a trauma informed approach for healing.
Thank you so much for making 2022 such a special year for me. I hope I can give back even a fraction of what I have gotten from each one of you.
Until next time,
Arjun
